Thanks to every colleague who has had their 'flu jab so far to help keep themself and our patients safe.  February is coming fast and this is a month where we have seen rises in the past.

A quick reminder to those who have had it outside CHFT (at their GP, midwife or community pharmacy) to tell us, so their vaccination can be included in our final figures.

There are two ways to do it:

** Please give your full name and date of birth when contacting them **

If you have chosen to decline the vaccination (and haven't yet told us) please use the same contact information.

Alternatively you can ask the team about arranging a vaccination - it's not too late and there are some  late drop-ins - see below.

Healthcare workers are considered to be at higher than average risk of exposure to ‘flu as we routinely see ill people - but we also have capacity to become "silent carriers", in that we may have no or limited symptoms, but still shed the virus around to others, including vulnerable patients whose immune systems mean they cannot respond so well to the vaccine.

And in the past we have had increased cases in February.

Colleague Health and Wellbeing is an important part of The Cupboard, and it’s important we care for each other in the same way as we care for our patients.
