Our Child Immunisation Team based at Brighouse Heath Centre  ditched tradition this year and spent their Secret Santa on immunisations for Unicef.

Michelle Brady, said: " We felt as a team that each year we were all buying for the sake of buying. The Secret Santa was always limited to £10 each so this year we decided to pool the money and do something a little different.

"We looked at various alternative gifting sites and considered  malaria nets, clean water, chickens for villages and school equipment etc. When we came across the UNICEF site and found immunisations it seemed like the obvious choice considering that's what we do. It would be nice to help children internationally as well as at home."

In an average year, the team immunises around 27.000 Calderdale school children against various preventable diseases such as: Human Papilloma Virus, Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio, Meningitis ACWY, MMR and Flu
