A patient's father has managed to raise over £400 after 'absolutely fantastic' care received from the Special Care Baby Unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital.

His baby son was born six weeks early and spent the first three weeks of his life in the unit.

George Howson, said: "I can't repay you enough for what the staff did during Rex's time at the hospital, but I hope this can go some way towards it.

George, said: "Two years ago, I shaved my beard in support of Andy's Man Club, this year, I'm doing it again to help the Special Care Baby Unit at the Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax. The level of care he received was second to none and the staff were absolutely fantastic throughout the process. Without them, Rex wouldn't be home and healthy like he is now. We honestly can't thank them enough, but this will go a small way towards that.

"Throughout the month of Movember, my trademark beard was removed."
