Pinning the red nose on Rudolph and snow ball throwing (paper ones) were amongst the activities as the Day Surgery team at HRI held their Christmas Jumper Day early.  (see attachments)

Receptionist Melissa Whitwam is away for their traditional event so instead, last Friday  - Paediatrics Day - was designated Festive Fun Day and, most importantly, raised more than £100 for Save the Children.

Clinical Operations Manager, Vicky Smith, said: "We paid for the opportunity to have snowballs thrown at us... and some were thrown harder than others. But it was a fab day, everyone embraced the day."

As well as the winter woollies, there were also daft specs and headgear to help put a smile on all the children's faces coming into the unit.  There was also a guess the maltesers in a jar and an obstacle course.

Vicky added: " The reception is the first point of contact for our young patients and their families, and our team always go the extra mile to be as welcoming and reassuring as thet can.  Team spirit is very important and this event shows how good it is."
