One in five people working in the NHS balance caring for a loved one with paid work, and this is set to increase as the population and workforce ages.

West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT) is working on an initiative to develop a Working Carers Passport and they would like working carers here at CHFT to give their views on the matter.

It's just about giving your opinions and thoughts so they get the input from the people that we are developing this initiative for!

A Working Carers Passport is a record which identifies a carer within the workforce in some way and leads to provision of support, services or other benefits in response.

There is significant evidence supporting working carers passports and the positive impact they have on staff well-being, engagement, retention and unplanned absence.

Working carers consistently report the negative impact caring has had on their careers with many choosing to reduce their hours or leave employment completely.
