We were delighted to welcome the "New Horizons" scout group  to HRI wards 8 and 9.

Leader Shuab, said: "Sister Sally and the staff were very accommodating. Our children really enjoyed the visit and have come away having gained a lot through the visit. Thanks to Rafael for his advice on education and Betty  telling us about her cats.

"We hope our visit brought some form of benefit to your ward whether it was via a gift or a smile from the children to your patients."

Acute Floor Ward Manager, Liz Earle, said: "I was delighted to be contacted by Shuab, leader of the New Horizons scout group, requesting to attend our ward to interact with the patients and give them all gifts. The scouts had done this previously a few years ago on the cardio-respiratory ward.

"It allows them to give something back to community and in doing this they receive their community award. It brought a smile to our patients faces. The children were so well behaved and should be proud of themselves. We really enjoyed their visit."
