A HRI Healthcare Assistant sprang into compassionate action during a collision in Laund Road on  freezingTuesday night.

A car hit another and the driver inside - a middle-aged man - was very emotional and upset.

The HCA - who told police she worked here when they arrived - stayed with him  in the car offering reassurance on a bitterly cold night.

The accident happened outside the home of Recruitment  Specialist Support Amanda McGrath who heard a bang outside and saw the scene of the accident. Amanda reckons the HCA went above and beyond and deserves praise.

Amanda said: " What she did was the epitome of compassionate care. It shows how our nurses really do put our patients first. The man was very upset, emptional and sad and she consoled and calmed him down until the police arrived."

" I think she was passing and she could have chosen not  to get  involved but instead  she did get involved, she stayed throughout and her caring and compassion shone through."

Amanda reckons the HCA deserves a shout-out. She was about 5ft 6 ins with a hood over brown hair.
