The family of a little boy who’s been helped to walk unaided have shared their thanks with our wonderful Children’s Therapy Team at Princess Royal.

Bobbi Robinson’s appointments are always heart-melting moments and he’s now doing so well after being diagnosed with cerebral palsy and struggling with his mobility.

At two and a half he made a magical moment when he walked down the entire length of the gym at Princess Royal and his family are thrilled with his achievement.

His physio Zebi Deluce, said: “Bobbi's beautiful smile has always melted hearts here. His face lights up at the children's therapy department.

“The day he walked the full length of the therapy gym without aid we were all in tears of joy with his parents.”

Bobbi’s Mum Paige, paid tribute to the team. She said: "I couldn't have hoped for anything better. Zebi has been amazing and always supported me and Bobbi."

Bobbi first attended for therapy at 13 months when his parents were concerned about a delay in his physical skills and he was eventually diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

Zebi, working with his parents, focused their attention on how they could work together to help Bobbi reach his full potential and at two and a half he took his first steps down the gym.

Initially, he was fitted with ankle foot orthoses by the orthotics team and referred into Occupational Therapy. Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy started a block of therapy intervention and it wasn't long until Bobbi mastered walking with a K-walker!

Zebi and his OT Fiona Langton supported Bobbi and his parents with his transition into nursery involving nursery visits. He attends a mainstream nursery and has made lots of friends.

Zebi Deluce has worked for NHS since graduating in 2007 and is from Huddersfield.

"I'm proud to work at CHFT. The trust has supported my family through some difficult times and I am pleased that I can give back."
