Three new colleagues have joined our Tissue Viability Team, so we're saying a huge hello to Judy, Claire and Alison. Read more about them here.

Hello my name is... Judy Harker (left).  I am the new Lead Nurse for Tissue Viability.  My career in nursing has spanned 30 years with the majority of it spent in tissue viability in acute, community and more recently oncology settings.  In 2000 I became one of the first Nurse Consultants in Tissue Viability leading a service across a large acute trust.  I am passionate about innovation and advancing clinical practice.  This is an exciting role for me and my first time working in Yorkshire! I look forward to sharing my expertise across the Trust in the provision of exemplary patient care.

Hello my name is... Claire Spence (middle). I have joined the Trust as the new Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse. I have previously worked in Bradford as a Vascular Nurse, where I have developed my skills in wounds and wound management. I look forward to working with the wards and community teams, sharing knowledge and skills to improve both patient care and patient experience. This is my first specialist role and therefore I am full of enthusiasm and excitement for my new journey with CHFT to begin!’

Hello my name is... Alison Ward (right). I joined the Tissue Viability team at CHFT as Clinical Lead Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse. I am excited to be working with and building a new tissue viability team at CHFT and developing links with the wider multidisciplinary teams across the Trust. I began my nursing career at the age of 16 working in a MH nursing home, and joined the NHS in 1993. Over the years I have worked in both acute, community and service development settings and bring with me 26 years experience of orthopaedics, trauma, frailty, service development and in more recent years Tissue Viability. I am passionate about putting the patient first, supporting colleagues and providing a learning opportunity as often as possible whether this be in the classroom, over a coffee or at the bedside.

Senior Nurse, Cath Briggs, who manages the team, said: "I want to say a big welcome to our new colleagues and how pleased we are in CHFT to have recruited three very experienced and passionate tissue viability nurses. I know from talking to Judy, Claire and Alison how they are looking forward to working with colleagues across acute and community to enhance the patient experience".
