We've a ward 15 hattrick as our celebration of our HCAs continues.

Jackie Murphy, Joe Bailey and Laura Hird were highly praised in a thank-you letter from a patient's daughter hailing them as 'unsung heros of the ward.' It was so lovely it gave their ward manager goose bumps.

The family wrote: "Nothing was ever too much bother. They treated my dad with dignity and I felt 100% reassured that my father would be truly cared for when I saw they were on duty. They went above and beyond expectations."

Rachel Garside, Ward 15 Manager, said: "Reading the letter gave me goosebumps. All my team on ward 15 work so hard and to have this kind of recognition is amazing. These three HCAs obviously really stood out to this family and had such a big impact on their patients' care and family experience. I am super proud of them!"

Rachel contacted Comms to give them a shout-out during our campaign recognising our HCAs. Chief Nurse  Ellen Armistead started it saying we couldn't function without them.

Ellen and Deputy  Chief Nurse Lindsay Rudge are hosting some coffee and chat drop-ins for HCAs - and the first one is today (Thurs 17th) at CRH - 2pm to 3pm in the Parentcraft room if you can make it.

Take a look at future dates and if you're thinkng of coming please let us know so we can have the coffee and cakes waiting. You can call HRI x5648 or email engagementteam@cht.nhs.uk
