Ward 15's Discharge Coordinator Kam Khehra and our Chief Operating Officer Helen Barker will be fronting our screensaver campaign this week promoting the NHS Staff Survey 2019.

For the past month, we have been looking at all the developments resulting from Staff Lottery last year and now we're encouraging CHFT colleagues to take a few minutes and fill it in when it arrives in their inboxes next week..

From Monday,  the survey will start arriving by email, so please take the opportunity and have your say. The mails will be sent by survey provider Picker Instutute Europe, who manage surveys for around 170 trusts across the country.

The questions will cover all areas of your work at CHFT including how you feel about different aspects of your job, your views on both yours and our patients' safety, thoughts on your opportunities for personal development, inclusion and health and wellbeing.

There will be opportunities to add comments too.

Our Director of Workforce and Organisatoinal Development, Suzanne Dunkley, said: "I love working for CHFT and I’ll be writing that in my survey when it arrives in my inbox.

"I am so proud of all my amazing colleagues and what they do every single day to deliver one culture of care, so I really hope they’ll all take the time to tell us what it’s like to work here.

"It’s important we know what we do well, so we can keep doing more if it, as well as where we can make improvements for colleagues”.

Here is some more information about how the survey will be run:

  • Colleagues will receive their first email from Picker on Monday.  (7th October)
  • Their first reminder will be sent two weeks afterwards with remaining reminders issued weekly after that.  Colleagues on maternity leave will receive a paper survey to their home address.
  • The survey is completely confidential and totally managed by Picker. They just send back the results.
  • It closes on the 29th November.
  • The higher the response rate the better as it means the  survey findings are representative of the views of colleagues as a whole.
  • No one at CHFT will be able to identify individual responses.
  • The bar code /number is only used by Picker Institute Europe to identify which colleagues should be sent a reminder and it will not be available to anyone at CHFT
