Our Staff Lottery Committee is looking for new members.

The Committee is currently four short (they need 10) and is looking for new recruits from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds to asses and allocate the bids it receives from across the Trust.

It meets around four times a year to consider applications and the meetings last, on average, one hour and they are held in Huddersfield.

You may be interested to know  the Committee recently approved bids for: 

  • The Flexmort Cover Cool which assists in the care of the deceased child and allows the family the opportunity to grieve in a familiar environment on the ward with staff they know
  • Chairs for the patients’ waiting room within the Ambulatory area of the Surgical Assessment Unit to provide a fresh, welcoming room with matching furniture.
  • Staff Choir start up costs
  • a Dyson fan, fridges, microwave and a water cooler for various areas

At present there are six on the Committee, so we have FOUR vacancies. If we receive too many applicants the committee will have an election to decide.

Applicants from both clinical and non-clinical areas  are invited in order to provide a wide spectrum of knowledge and experience to draw on when assessing bids.

** Winners are picked on the first Tuesday of every month. It costs £2 per number, a month which is deducted from salaries. Top prize is always £1,000 with November's having a £5,000 jackpot.
