Twenty years after Cath Whitworth received her new liver, she's celebrating with an outstanding performance at the World Transplant Games.

She achieved two personal bests in the pool -  faster than when she first started swimming for her country 20 years ago.

She's returned from the games at Newcastle with a silver and four bronze medals and is now back at work on Special Care Baby Unit at CRH.  Last week we featured little Ava who topped the podium in the youngsters' events.

Cath says: "My donor has made such an unselfish donation so I always want to give something back as a thankyou."

Cath had liver disease which required the transplant and now trains at pools in Halifax, Sowerby Bridge and Brighouse to stay at peak fitness and reckons the competition is getting tougher.

"The standard is improving all the time and it was damned hard work but for me it is my focus and my way of saying thankyou."
