The Rainbow and Children's Outpatients Team have hosted their first Summer Fayre to bring families together and raise funds to enhance our patient care.

Clinical Nurse Manager, Katie Booth, said "Our colleagues put a lot of energy, enthusiasm and work into ensuring the day was thoroughly enjoyed by families, and it absolutely was!"

About 20 families attended the event and enjoyed messy play, painting, nibbles, games and a visit from a therapy dog. Families also contributed to our fundraising events, which we are extremely grateful for!

The hook a duck game was quickly reverted to paddling pool in the warm weather!

The event was also attended by the Special Educational Needs Team from Kirklees (SEND), our Speech and Language Team, CHFT and Sure Start from Calderdale who shared information with our families. A big thank you to PCAN - the independent parent-led forum for all parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs in Kirklees.

We raised a total of £600 which is representative of the teams hard work, families support and everyone else who bought a raffle ticket or brought tombola prizes etc. Thank you so much for all your contributions.

One family has messaged us to say 'What a fab event you guys put together today'.
