Our latest Hot House was held earlier this week with the aim of drawing up a new trustwide Essentials Training programme for Managers .

The new programme will feature modules including: You as manager; Managing people; Managing change and Managing money.

The idea came from the feedback from last year's National NHS Staff Survey and our tea-trolley rounds.

People came from right across the Trust from clinical and non-clinical roles and had conversations around proposed modules for the new training programme.

Associate Director of Organisational Development, Ruth Mason said “The great thing about the Hot House is we were able to bring draft proposals to the session and have them improved by everyone’s creativity and enthusiasm.  It was a great event and we came away with lots of new thoughts and ideas.

"One of the themes from last year’s National Staff Survey results was ‘we want confident, visible leaders’ so asking folks to come to the Hot House and contribute their ideas to Management Essentials was a real priority.  And as ever here at CHFT, we had loads of brilliant contributions!"

The Hot House is just one a a whole host of activities taking place across CHFT. You can see what's happening on our Colleague Engagment Calendar in The Cupboard.

Talking of surveys....

You may have noticed your latest Friends and Family Test email pop into your inbox this week.

Three times a year colleagues are asked to complete a quick two question survey as to whether they'd recommend CHFT as a place to work, or to receive care, as well as taking comments.

So if you get a chance please do contribute and fill yours in. And independent company called Picker manager the survey and will be sending reminders on Monday 19th and Tuesday 27th with the survey closing on Friday 30th.
