This time next week, we'll be in full-on 'pink' mode as CHFT will proudly be supporting the launch of the national Unsung Hero Awards.
Pink is the theme of the awards which are unique in that they celebrate the work of non-clinical colleagues and volunteers in the NHS.
Next Thursday is Yorkshire Day and we've been chosen to launch them after our Chief Operating Officer Helen Barker and her PA and pal Sue Laycock attended last year's final - where Helen sported the perfect jacket for the event. See main photo.
Sue didn't win, but they were both so overwelmed at the talent and stories on the big night. And, as result of their feedback, the organisers asked if we would host them this yearr and Helen was well up for the challenge.
Helen, said: " On the night you couldn't help but be amazed at the stories. We didn't win but we were blown away. So when the organisers asked us if we would like to host this year's launch we leapt at the chance. It puts CHFT at the centre of such a great NHS awards scheme - and on Yorkshire Day too, perfect!"
There will be eleven categories and we'll be having posters and flyers around the Trust to help colleagues work out which category to nominate.
