Huge congrats to Webteam (and honorary comms team member), Assistant Web Developer Sophie Thomas. She and colleague Andrew Pheasey both graduated this summer with first class honours, and have re-joined Heath Informatics permanently to support digital communications. 

Andrew is now Bachelor of Science (BSc) with Honours in Computing and Sophie has a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) with Honours in Web Technolgies.

Summarise your career background
For the past four years I have been studying Web Technologies at The University of Huddersfield, which I graduate with a First-Class Honours Degree on 9th July. During my 3rd year of University, I did a placement year with The Health Informatics Service as a Student Web Coordinator which involved managing the company social media platforms, assisting with web support and design jobs.

I was kept on 2 days a week throughout my final year of University (one day with The Health Informatics Service Webteam and one day with CHFT’s Comms team). Since finishing University, I have been made full-time at The Health Informatics Service as an Assistant Web Developer.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Either a police women or teacher.

Who is your hero/heroine and why?
My Mum, she is my rock and the strongest women I know.

When you are not at work, how do you relax?
Sitting in the sun, with anything alcoholic in hand!

What is your favourite place?

Damon’s (the best American restaurant!!)

What would people be surprised to know about you?

That I’ve never been aboard…
