Here's our Chaplain Imran Hussain with Chair Philip Lewer (second left) and sister Joanne Littlewood on ward 12 receiving a cheque for £3,000 towards a mobile hoist from The Eden* Foundation.

Philip said “We are extremely grateful to The Eden Foundation for thinking of us as part of their Ramadan celebrations this year.

“Their donation for ward 12 will make a real difference to patients with limited mobility, promoting independence and support with daily activities”.

The Eden Foundation is a grassroots organisation which runs projects and services which aim to benefit the community of Huddersfield.

Every year, as part of sharing Ramadan, the Muslim community of Huddersfield contributes to a local cause and this year they kindly chose to donate toward a hoist to the oncology department in HRI.

Imran Khan, Eden representative, said: "We hope that this small gesture on behalf of the Muslim community will be a means of showing our appreciation to the great work our local hospital does.

"We would like to extend our special thanks and appreciation to Imran Hussain, the Muslim Chaplain at CHFT, who helped organise the donation."
