Quest matron Emma Parson took part in the Kirkwood Hospice midnight memory walk last weekend and raised more than £300.

Here's the story behind it.

"This was a hard one for me usually being in bed for 9pm! Absolutely well worth it, was a fantastic night to be enjoyed by all of the family and all for a worthy cause. I was sponsored by my fellow colleagues in the Quest team. I took part in memory of my family members who were sadly taken away too soon. I walked six miles with my family members including my nine-year-old daughter and my dog!

"We raised in excess of £300 between us for Kirkwood!

"Not really much time to prepare but we already walk a lot anyway with having a dog. What kept us entertained was my daughter with her red pulse poncho on.. definitely couldn’t miss her! We also had an interview with the Kirkwood marketing team and a family photo so hoping to see that in a few days on the website.

"I think the hardest part was the last mile at 2:30am but we made it and got our bacon butty when we arrived back! I would definitely recommend people to do this. Firstly to raise the much-needed funds for the hospice for them to continue the amazing work and secondly for the atmosphere, fun and friendly!

"Will definitely be doing it again next year, might even do the 10 mile! Would be great to get a CHFT group together!"
