In July 2018 a cohort of young adults started the project SEARCH program at the Calderdale Royal Hospital and they have now celebrated their graduation.

The seven interns completed various work placements around the different departments in the hospital. They have all grown so much in confidence since the start of the course, and have made a massive impression on the all the staff and patients they have had the pleasure of working with.

The graduation evening was a massive success and it was wonderful to see so many people come together to help us celebrate the interns achievements.

The interns now still have a couple of weeks of hard work, finishing their last placements and hopefully finding employment or an apprenticeship. We already have two interns who have gained employment/apprenticeship within the hospital.

This year the program has been a massive success and is going from strength to strength, thanks to the CHFT for all the help and support from the staff, and been wonderful mentors helping the interns to become the wonderful individuals we see today. Finally thanks to the interns for all their hard work and commitment, they may have been laughs and tears along the way, but they all made it and have come out the experience better people.

Job Coach, Tracey Thompson, said: "Could we have a shout out to the following: Ward 4C, all of ward 7, Resus training team, Pam Ward/Nikki Hosty and all other departments who have supported project SEARCH this year".
