The Mayor of Kirklees Cllr Mumtaz Hussain will be the guest of honour at Monday's Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) meeting, which all colleagues are welcome to attend. Cllr Hussain cut the cake at our NHS70 celebrations  back in summer last year and was interested to hear about the great work that's ongoing by the group.

Other agenda items include:

  • Improving access to healthcare services for BAME community 
  • The Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) and BAME Network journey – Owen Williams
  • Equality & Diversity / Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) – Nikki Hosty
  • My experience of being born in Ghana - discussion around her experiences in both countries – Matron, Rachel Roberts
  • Debi Johnson to receive an award for her work raising awareness if diabetes in the community
