On Monday, June 24, we are introducing a new community equipment requesting system.

It’s for any piece of equipment – from Zimmer frames to beds and mattresses – which support our patients to live independently.

It works very much like on-line shopping and comes with an online catalogue to select products and replaces our existing order-by-email system.

It is accessible via a desk top icon Called TCES Community.

Around 450 colleagues – mainly in Community from CHFT and Calderdale Council – have already received training and CHFT is working with colleagues at Calderdale Council to promote and support it. (There is already an existing similar system for Kirklees).

At CHFT colleagues in discharge, therapies, community and district nursing teams will be the main users however colleagues in other acute roles – especially caring for elderly patients – will also be using the new system.

We currently handle around 22,000 requests a year for equipment.  The new system will include text alerts so delivery dates and times can be highlighted in advance and tracked until they are received.

If you want more information or have inquiries about training please contact Equipment Manager Andy Mould on 01422 306725 or email him: andrew.mould@cht.nhs.uk

We'll be adding a link to the new system on the left-hand side of front page of the intranet on the 24th June.
