The Police or Social Services sometimes try to contact colleagues directly to request statements for court, rather than via the Legal Team.

The Legal Team are there to support colleagues through this process so it's important to let them know  - as well as your line manager  - if you are approached directly.

Head of Legal Services, Complaints & Patient Advice, Gerard Curran, said:"We're here to offer our support, advice and help collegaues prepare, even with writing their statements".

Learning: If you are contacted directly to provide a court statement, inform your manager and email LegalServices.GeneralInbox@cht.nhs.uk immediately so they can provide the appropriate support or liaise with the Safeguarding Team.
