There was a fab turnout for our first Endoscopy open event and Manager, Tracy Burland has thanked all her team for making it a success.

More than 50 people came along to the event which was aimed at showcasing the work of department to colleagues and others who may be considering a career change. The department as a whole is growing and there are a number of roles available at both sites .

The qualified roles are on NHS jobs - the deadline is Tuesday the 7th May and the HCA roles will be up later this week.

Tracy said "I wanted to say a big thank you (to the team) for staying behind to help out with the open evening. The attendance far exceeded anything we expected.

"I think most people found it really useful and were surprised by what we actually do in Endoscopy. I was so proud to watch you all talk passionately about your role in Endoscopy and I think it was a great success !!!

She thanked:

Nurse Endoscopists  Kim and Amanda:  for sharing your knowledge. Amanda your scope demonstrations were brill and Kim your tea and coffee-making skill were outstanding .

Oliver - Well done!  I know you were nervous but you were great at sharing your knowledge about decon and the HCA role. There were a lot of potential HCAs there !!!

Helen - Thank you for sharing your experience as a newly appointed member of our team. Your positive attitude  was really helpful.

Lynne and Emma - Tthank you for sharing your experiences with people, organising the evening and showing what a great place Endoscopy is to work".
