Debbie Dessi, Student Pharmacy Technician, recently completed her Pharmacy Advanced (L3) Apprenticeship – Pharmacy Technicians Advanced Apprenticeships through Bradford College.

The two year course combines a BTEC and a level 3 NVQ, but Debbie has also been working in the Pharmacy at HRI.

Not only did Debbie complete the course successfully whilst working, she has also been raising her children and helping to run the family restaurant - she also gained the highest results in her year group with distinctions in every subject.

As a reward for becoming top in her year group Debbie received a Samsung Galaxy Tablet from Bradford College.

As a result she has now been appointed as a Pharmacy Technician within the Trust.

Mentor Liz Bishop said: “she has excelled at every stage, and she will be a valuable asset to the Trust”.

Debbie said: “I would like to thank the support I have had from the Pharmacy staff, especially Liz. I did not expect to become first in the class, and to end up winning a Samsung Galaxy Tablet! This is now in my son’s possession!”
