Our Duty of Candour (DOC) elearning package is available to everyone on ESR. There is no assessment and it explains the background of DOC, when and the best way we should apologise, how you can access support plus lots of other useful information.
The training is there to help colleagues:
- understand the ethical and mandatory requirements in apologising to patients or families
- understand the background to Duty of Candour
- understand what makes a good apology and why it is important to the patient or family
- understand the process for justified exemptions from Duty of Candour
The learning has no assessment, but includes lots of useful information and examples.
