We have just launched a campaign to recruit two members of staff to our Council of Governors (CoG).

Every Foundation Trust has a CoG to support its Board to develop, improve and shape its services for our patients and their families into the future.

The CoG has governors from our staff groups, our local communities and our stakeholder partners such as Huddersfield University and Healthwatch. It meets four times a year and is chaired by Philip Lewer.

Governors can get involved in a variety of activities, and attend training courses and meetings, such as Divisional Reference Groups and Board Sub-committees, to hear in-depth about the work going on across the Trust and the issues faced.

Currently, we have two vacancies on the CoG for staff governors – one for a nurse or midwife, and another for an allied healthcare professional (AHP).

So if you're interested in putting yourself forward for election and joining Peter Bamber (doctors/dentists group), Sian Grbin (nurses/midwives group) and Linzi Smith (admin/clerical/managerial group) on the CoG, then get in touch with our Membership Office on ext 3742 at HRI for more information.  Or see the ‘Staff Membership and the Council of Governors’ pages on the intranet.

Nomination forms will be available from 17 April, and the deadline for receipt of nominations is 20 May.
