The Acute Floor at Huddersfield were delighted to receive their Silver Exemplar Ward Accreditation. The review was done  by Matrons Janette Cockroft, Qusva Ilyas and Karen Melling.

On the 6 March the team had a small party on the ward to celebrate.

Senior Sister Amy Whitehead, said: "I am proud to be part of such a fabulous team, it is such a short space of time since we have merged, just a matter of ten weeks.'

Senior Sister Rainey, added: "It is a real achievement to be awarded a Silver Score when the staff from ward 6 and MAU only came together to form the acute floor a few weeks ago'

A Health Care Assistant Shahida Parveen  made special celebration silver cup cakes pictured. And Comms have seen plenty of cup cakes over the year and these look extra spesh!

Matron Janette Cockroft was one of the assessors. She said: " Congratulations to the Acute floor HRI a big well done to everyone.

" Three matrons carried out the audit, Karen, Qusva  and myself  and all three of us were impressed. Karen took several photos of the displays and information to share good practice with the surgical Division ,the information highlighting the ward work  to focus on moving from a CQC good to outstanding status was very impressive.

"Staff were welcoming and although it was very busy afforded the time to tell us about the ward and the good work that was underway on  the  recently amalgamated Acute floor."

Matron, John Tyrer, said: " The staff have all committed to working together well, and the result of this assessment speaks for itself. I am very proud of them all and delighted for the ward sisters who have managed the transition from two separate wards to one united area providing such special care for our patients."
