A big thank-you to everyone for embracing Marvellous March.

You are all doing a fantastic job to ensure that our patients are being cared for in a safe and high quality manner. By listening to you the teams are working to make the patient’s pathway as smooth as possible, whether that is waiting for an Outpatient Appointment, ensuring Cancer Outcomes are met or Length of Stay is reduced.

So far the Marvellous March Core Improvement Team has managed to work with teams to try to improve how we are caring for patients.

• The team have been working with the NEWS2 score ensuring that all scores are entered correctly.
• We have adapted the hand over from the Emergency Department to wards by using and SBAR style agreed by senior clinical colleagues.
• The team appreciate the need for specialist patients to go to the correct area first time and the Clinical Commander are actively keeping an Orthopaedic bed on ward 19 whenever possible.
