Our first event focusing on men's mental health has been hailed as "inspirational".

The group - at an event at CRH Lecture Theatre -  openly discussed how accessing support can be the biggest hurdle and some admitted it took three times to walk through a  support group door and how once in the're lives were enhanced.

The group presented a dramatic performance highlighting the issues and attitudes they have collectively faced whilst suffering mental health issue.

The audience included CHFT colleagues, THIS and Huddersfield University colleagues, as well as members of the public.

CHFT's organiser Janet Youd,  pictured third left, said: " Their stories were truly inspired by their stories of how they have overcome many challenges, not least attending their first group meeting.Universally these men all agree the most important thing for anyone with mental health concerns is to talk to someone, and the advice for friends is to just listen.

"They highly recommend men’s groups where you can just talk about ‘men’s stuff’, even if it does take you three attempts to walk through the front door!"
