Colleagues from the Community Rehabilitation Team attended Craig Whittaker MP's ‘Pensioners Fair’ on Friday 22nd February at the Mytholmroyd Community Centre.

The fair was attended by other health professionals, the Police, Calderdale Council, Overgate Hospice, Community Transport and different voluntary groups covering a wide range of interest to pensioners. It followed a similar one held last yyear in Brighouse.

Craig welcomed the chance to meet our team. He said: "Their work is so important and can make such a difference to people. It was a pleasure to hear them talk about their work with such passion and enthusiasm. I'd like to thank them and all participants."

Deborah Beaumont-Lorimer and Lisa Gray the Falls Prevention Assistant Practitioners set up their stall, spending the time raising awareness of the Community Falls Prevention Pathway and the Finding Your Feet Strength & Balance 13-week class programme which they deliver in Todmorden, Brighouse and Halifax.  They had a lot of interest and secured four definite referrals into the pathway.

If you know of anyone who has concerns or has a fear of falling and would like advice and a falls risk assessment, then don’t delay, refer them to the team today, by ringing Gateway to Care on 01422 393 000.
