We now have a new a Standard Operating Procedure for Tenotomy (tendon release)  as a recent case made highlighted one was needed.

During a procedure on a baby no anaesthetic cream was administered and the baby's mother felt felt it would have helped.. On investigation it was found the practice of applying anaesthetic cream varies between consultants and there is no established best practice. 

So we have created a standing operating procedure (SOP) for Tenotomy, which includes the application of anaesthetic cream prior to the  tenotomy.
