The gauntlet has been thrown down to all Community colleagues to share more good news about what's happening in the division! At a recent meeting with the District Nursing teams from Calderdale our Chief Operating Officer, Helen Barker asked to hear more about what they're proud of - and was overwhelmed by their fantastic response.

Helen said "This got everyone in the room thinking we need to share this across the Trust. We want more colleagues to be aware of all the great things happenikng and what services are provided by our community teams. The work they carry our plays a huge part in supporting patients outside of hospital."

When asked "What are you most proud of and what are some of the outstanding things that you do?" their responses included how they provide truly holistic, personalised care. Their patients feed back they feel staff are attentive and that nothing is too much trouble for the District nurses team to support the patient with.

Director of Operations Andrea Dauris told CHFT Weekly. "All the positive comments were fab to hear.

"They told us about the outstanding care they deliver, which is completely focused on meeting the needs of the patient and family as well as the lengths that they go to support their patients in often challenging situations.

"They also talked of their ability to think on their feet, knowing that when they walk through the front door of someone's home they are an invited guest, but they are often walking into the unknown.

"You only need to look at the lengths they go to deliver care in challenging weather conditions, as well as a can do attitude that is completely focused on the needs of the patient".

Helen then gave the team a challenge to find 52 stories from across the division and have a weekly story profiling community services and they jumped at the challenge.

So, cameras and pens at the ready community colleagues; we're really looking forward to hearing (and seeing) more from our fantastic community teams.
