Pharmacy Assistant Brenda Cox is one of our latest winners of an extra day's annual leave. She won the precious extra day's annual leave for having her 'flu jab in our winter campaign. Around 65 patients have tested positive for the virus in the past three weeks alone at CHFT - so it's not too late to have your vaccination.

And colleagues vaccinated elsewhere are also eligible to be entered.

The prize draw was reinstated last week in efforts to take us through to the end of this years campaign next month. Nationally Trusts are making a concerted effort to reach as near to 100% frontline staff vaccinated as possible, and our figures include colleagues who had it elsewhere and have self-declared on the intranet. These colleagues' names also go into the prize draw too.

Late last year NHS England came along to film our ED consultant Andy Lockey for a national Twitter campaign on how people can help the NHS help them.

Their message was Help Us Help You. You can see Andy's message here.

And our fab Infection Control nurses Jean and Karen supported him with the filming on the day. We managed to get them to film a very short, but to the point, plea to colleagues about the 'flu vaccination. Watch it here or below.

The 'flu campaign runs through the end of February. It's not too late to have your vaccination as the viirus is circulating locally and we've had a significant number of patients who have tested positive - including more younger patients than normal.
