Around 200 colleagues attended our awards night at Huddersfield Town Hall where everyone was declared a winner.

CEO Owen Williams said it wasn't a case of Going the Extra Mile but going the extra marathon.

It was Owen's 7th event which he said, gave him a great feeling of pride. " How we come together in our hospitals, in community and in people's homes to make their lives different is why we come to work and why we are here tonight to celebrate."

Our Chair Philip Lewer - making his first appearance -  said the work from the CHFT teams on show was just the tip of the iceberg of the work right across the Trust every day and admitted to his "first night" nerves as co-presenter of our Big Night.

"I am very nervous. I want to get it so right for everybody here tonight. Without exception everyone here has been so caring and so committed".

Our Arrhythmia Team  - aka the "Clotbusters"  - collected the Gordon McLean £5k cheque  - presented in memory of our former chairman.

At the end of the night Richard Hill from THIS and co-winner of the new Digital Innovation hailed Owen as an exemplary CEO. He told the room " You have been there singing the praises of everyone. But you have pushed us and I want to say you have been fantastic."

He said he regularly sees our CEO having a breakfast in the  dining room - and CEO responded to this his tribute, saying: "The scrambled eggs are on me!

In all, ten awards were handed out and each winner received cheers from across the room. This year we had two new awards - Rising Superstar and Digital Innovation.

Our two local mayors joined our sponsors Cerner, Imprivata, Intervserve, ISS and Limehouse for the occasion.

Films showing the Market Place judging back in October were shown - see end story - including some outakes which feature in our very end story.

And each nominee was the subject of a short video and hastags #CS2018 and #CHFTSuccess were all over the twitter-sphere!
