Our paediatric teams at CRH have had a social media  jackpot this week after helping their "little man" Riley Merrill  attend a Jess Glynn concert.

And the eight-year-old just missed out on a chance meeting with his pop heroine as he was invited to join her back stage - but they were already on their way home from the stadium in Leeds so he missed out.

Our team were on a mission to get him trending on their social media pages and hit 2,000 likes - their most ever.

XX Lola Duncan, said: " Riley is a regular with us and we had to give him a pass out to attend. So we had a success in getting him an upgraded seat and tried to get him a shout-out. Then he got an invitation to go backstage to meet her but it arrived just a bitt too late as they were driving home to Halifax."

She said the team loved the power of social media to make our care extra special for our younger patients. " We love it, we honestly do when something happens like this through the power of social media. It went really viral and we got our most likes ever."

She said Riley was a "little star" with a skin condition which means he regularly needs treatment on the ward at CRH. It is a condition called recessive dystrophic epidermalysis bullosa - which means his skin is very sensitive and peels off.

Lola added: " Riley deals with everything and takes it in his stride so we were on a mission to make the concert special for him."
