A team of six CHFT staff will be participating in the Warrior challenge this weekend to raise money for Help the Heroes charity.

The Warrior Challenge, which is being held this Saturday (27th June) at Bramham Park in Leeds, their start time is 13:40.

This challenge is not the average fun run; it is designed to test stamina, strength and determination. There are three locations on the course offering a greater variety and more obstacles-per-kilometre than any other race out there.

A team made up of two anaesthetists, two theatre practitioners, ICU/ITU nurse and a Student nurse are all raising money for Help for Heroes.

Obe Morake, who is also an ex squaddie is leading the team for the challenge.

The main aim of doing the Warrior Challenge is to promote teamwork in both the challenge and our work.

Team captain, Obe Morake said: “we are determined to finish the 20km of 30 obstacles as a team, we will help each other through it.

“we believe that together we can achieve more in whatever challenge presents to us, ranging from sports and to work.”

Two of the team members have already participated in challenges similar, the Yorkshire Total Mudder. Saddie and Dawn are now the teams inspiration, and motivation for the course.

The ward warriors are Obe Morake, Sadie Riley, Mark Greasley, Dawn Smith, Louise Noble and Melanie Riley
