District Nursing Clinical Manager Liz Berry retired from CHFT - and there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

Hugely popular Liz has been a nurse for 40 years the last 10 as a District Nurse and a Clinical Manager in Community Division CHFT.

Colleagues gathered at Lister Lane Surgery to bid a fond farewell to Liz and to thank her for her true dedication to the district nursing service in Calderdale.

Liz Morley, Associate Director of Nursing, for the division said there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. "We will all miss Liz’s enthusiasm, her say-it -like -it -is attitude! But above all her passion for delivering high quality care and her dedication to her nursing teams."

Liz started her career at Huddersfield Nursing School in1977 and after her long career now plans more "me" and "family" time  with her five grandchildren. A Caribbean cruise with her daughter is already in the pipleine. She also plans to hold onto her bank contract so may well be back.

She said: " My last day was surreal. It was so nice that people came in or sent their wishes and messages. It was really touching. I have been fortunate to work alongside such dedicated colleagues."

She was presented with flowers, a Pandora ring, a Spa day with two treatment.
