Our Respiratory Step-Down ward  at CRH (5D) is leading the race for gold.

They've just achieved a silver exemplar ward accreditation and to celebrate their Matron Vanessa Dickinson baked them a congrats cake.

This is the second  time that the team have received the silver ward and they now have their eyes firmly set on gold.

Ward Manager, Francesca Kenyon said: " This is a fantastic achievement for all the staff, everyone works so hard and it is nice to get recognition for all their efforts, the staff feel very proud."

The scheme involves completing  a 30-page booklet complaicnes and  also an intensive overview of the ward. It also includes interviews with our patients and their visitors and families as well as all the staff in the team. It was headed by our former matron Mary Hytch and  also includes a look at the ward's performance figures, audits, record for training and complaints (none for 5D).

Francesca added: " Our team was asked about how they felt working on here and they were so enthusiastic. We are so proud to have achieved a second silver."
