In CHFT Weekly, next week we are hoping to commemorate  our  family heroes and loved ones who were lost in the First World War.

Pictured here is a scene at Spring Hall,  now the Register Office in Halifax, which was coverted into an emergency hospital from 1916-1919 by a local doctor and his wife.  Staffed by volunteer nurses it had 220 beds and more than 3,400 patients were cared for there.

Sadly, our communities saw hundreds of men answering the local call-ups and head off to the front never to come home.

In Huddersfield area more than 3,400 men died - 40% of them serving with the Duke of Wellington regiment.  They won six Military Crosses between them.

So, as its 100 years since the end of the Great War -and also NHS70 year -  then send in your photos of your heroes and we'll honour them and share their stories across the Trust.

Call  Comms  on HRI x5252, x5253 and x5256 and we'll do the rest.
