Theatres were the winners of our annual colleagues' 5-a-side football tournament.

Richard Topham scrambled together a last-minute team and they beat the Pharmacy team 4-1 in the event staged by our Occupational Health Team to celebrate Men's Health Week.

Richard, a Liverpool FC fan, said their secret was they took their chances and hailed his team for all their efforts and also the event in Halifax.

"Everyone really enjoyed it. We just managed to finish our goals off and pharmacy missed a couple."

He said some of them had played football together in the past but they get a regular influx of new potential players amongst the doctors and registrars.

He added:  "Jack Long played well - but then we all did. Martin Michelle and Chris Hartley rotated in goal and did a great job too!"

Winners of League on  Pitch 1 -    Pharmacy A

Winners of League on pitch 2 -   Theatres

Final between Theatres and Pharmacy A - Theatres won 4 -1

Play off for 3 & 4th  Informatics and Procurement 3 -3  draw
