The family of a long-serving chaplaincy volunteer  who died from cancer in August have presented a cheque as a thankyou for her care.

Baksho  Kaur worked for many years alongside her husband Harbinder, volunteering to provide spiritual support as part of CHFT chaplaincy team. Baksho loved providing holistic spiritual support to patients at both HRI and CRH hospitals and will be sadly missed by CHFT colleagues.

The family donated £1500 to Macmillan cancer support in grateful thanks for the care and support both Baksho and family received during her illness. Her treatment was provided by CHFT Oncology team and specialist nurses throughout her journey and latterly supported by Calderdale community specialist palliative care team, community nurses and GP.

Daughter-in -law Jas and Baksho's family provided personal care and support directly. Jas, said without Macmillan community palliative support she would have felt lost. Knowing she could pick up the phone and ask for help and advice enabled her to care for Baksho at home throughout her journey.

Baksho died peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family on Friday the 17th August 2018.
