Did you know we have a set of easy read Friends and Family Test cards for patients with learning disabilities? Some of these patients struggle with the normal FFT cards, so this version has pictures and symbols to make it simpler for them to feedback about the services and care they've received.

Our ward clerks and nurses should have supplies of the cards. See a copy attached below.

Good communication is essential when dealing with patients with a learning disability. They may have limited communication, comprehension and social skills. To reduce distress, poor cooperation and difficult situations, it's important we are effective in our communication and that we communicate at a level that is understood by the individual.
