Hello my name is…

Hello my name is Freya... I am a 20 year old Marketing Student on a placement year at CHFT under the Communications team.  I finished my GCSEs at Lightcliffe Academy in 2014, and then chose to stay at the school to complete my A-levels, where I studied Health & Social Care, Applied Sciences, Business Studies and Sociology.

In 2016 I was accepted on a Business and Marketing course at the University of Huddersfield and moved into nearby student accommodation. Next year I will return back to university to finish my dissertation, graduate with my course friends and hopefully get ready to start my masters.

What is the highlight of your career so far?

Taking part in NHS70- It was a great way to kick start my first week within the Trust; I was so proud to be working with the NHS during their 70th birthday celebrations.

Who is your hero/heroine and why?

My close friends from University have helped me so much through these three years. Although we’re very competitive with one another, it motivates us to do better. And if one of us falls behind or is struggling, we always make time to help on work load and offer support. I know for a fact I wouldn’t have got the grades I did or this amazing placement without their support and inspiration. They’re all on placement now themselves, including roles with HP, Unilever and local marketing companies. Couldn’t be more proud of them, and I can’t wait to catch up with them later this year.

My best friend Molly who I met in student halls in first year is my right hand man, and at university we do everything together. You won't see me at a party or on a night out without her. I’ve moved back home while being on placement so after two years of living together it’s weird not seeing her every day!

When you are not at work how do you relax?
I love going to music festivals, so in the summer I spend a lot of time with my friends camping and attending gigs. Recently I have visited festivals in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Spain.
