Hello my name is Elisabeth Street. I recently joined the Trust and am also new to Yorkshire. I am moving up from Cheshire where I currently live in Macclesfield (famous for silk, the Maclads and Ian Curtis.)  I have two children, both who have flown the nest and are now at university. My daughter Harriet  is 21 and studying medicine in Bristol  and my son Charlie is 19 and studying business management in Manchester. I am originally from Stafford where I went to school and lived until I went to Uni.

Summarise your career background
Prior to this post I was working as the chief pharmacist at Burton Hospitals NHS Trust and before that I was the deputy chief pharmacist at East Cheshire Trust. My clinical background is as an ICU pharmacist.  I went to Cardiff University, where I studied pharmacy . I completed my pre-registration year working for Cooperative chemist in Cardiff and then I worked for Boots as a relief manager in the valleys of South Wales. I then moved to Edinburgh and worked at Boots there and then to Hemel Hempstead. In 2003 I left Boots to start work as a junior pharmacist in the NHS. I went back to university in Manchester to study for my clinical diploma and then also completed my non-medical prescribing course and a masters module in critical care.

What is the highlight of your career so far?

When my team won a Trust staff award. It was Innovation award  for delivery of technician ward-based services

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A nurse. But I joined St Johns' Ambulance and went off the idea after seeing blood and body fluids.
 

When you are not at work how do you relax?

Walking my dog, who's a miniature schnauzer, catching up with friends, running and enjoying a bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk

What is your favourite place?

Morfa Nefyn beach in North Wales

What would people be surprised to know about you?

Me being made to wear a yellow duckling outfit was not one of my better looks

The NHS is 70 this year. How does that make you feel?

Very glad to work for such a great institution
