Our Trust has been recognised against the Investors in People (IIP) Standard since 2001 - and this year's assessment is about to start.
Last time, we achieved a Bronze and now we've got Silver in our sights especially after achieving a CQC Good rating in June.
The process
This year’s assessment starts at the end of July and should be concluded in October - and it's all based on staff feedback through either an online survey or face-to-face meetings with staff through interviews and focus groups.
About: the questionnaire survey
- Runs between Monday 30th July and Friday 10th August.
- All colleagues will be invited to participate, either through email or by a link to a website.
- It takes just a few minutes to complete and will be totally anonymous and confidential.
- In order for the IIP assessor to make a judgement, around 500 colleagues need to complete the questionnaire survey. And the more responses they receive, the greater the level of insight there will be for the assessors.
So if you’re asked to take part, or receive an email please get involved and be honest with your answers! This will help us understand what we’re doing well and how we can improve.
About: interviews and focus groups
- The assessor randomly selects around sixty people to take part in interviews and focus groups.
- This year the assessment will focus primarily on colleagues from Community, Estates and Facilities & Medicine, though staff from other directorates may also be included.
- These discussions will be carried out between Thursday 6th and Tuesday 18th September and help the assessor gain a deeper insight into our culture and the consistency of our processes.
- They will ask questions relating to themes such as your job role, your training, communication, leadership and reward & recognition. They also seek your views on how you contribute to the Trust’s business objectives.
- The process is completely confidential - although the assessor will be reporting back his overall findings, he will not attribute any of his findings to individual colleagues.
If you are selected our Associate Director of Organisational Development, Ruth Mason will contact you to let you know the time and location of your interview or focus group. If, in the meantime, you would like any further clarification, please give Ruth a call on 07786 250892.
