Intensive Care Sisters Joanne Walker and Vicki Scurrah, have been collating data for research and audit for the Intensive Care and National Audit and Research (ICNARC) which is also used by 95% of the ICU units in the country so all the data can be compared.
ICNARC data is used for national and global clinical audits and research projects, within CHFT for 11 different audits, and is reported to the West Yorkshire Critical Care Network along with a further three audits.
And Vicki wants to blow their own trumpets as they've scooped a Data Quality Award!
Every year ICNARC hold a conference to update and inform delegates – usually ICU is too busy for Joanne and Vicki to go. According to their case work link, Yemi Banjo, they have very clean data with very few queries compared to other units of work that Yemi looks after.
Vicki said "Knowing just how many hours we put in to this, I feel rather pleased that our hard work has been acknowledged. It goes against the grain to ask for praise, but I feel strongly that we deserve it."
