There was a top turn out for HRI gardening legend David Hambleton after more than 40 years of mowing, pruning and leaves clearing.

Every winter he used to bag up 2,000 bags of leaves to keep the grounds as spic and span  as possible for us all and our patients and their families.

He was a regular nominee at Celebrating Success for his outstanding work and his hanging baskets had become the  envy of Lindley.

** His successor Dave Knapton is now coping solo with the challenges of this summer.  And he brings good expert news - your lawn will recover on its own as soon as there's some decent rain (and it is forecast for tomorrow)!

** There was a 10-minute taster of what rain looks like. On Tuesday this week at 4 pm it drizzled slightly and it was so momentous we took a photo of Vanessa Henderson from the Membership Office in slight shock!
