Sadly we know colleagues can be subjected to violent, aggressive or negative behaviours from patients.

The three hour session is designed for anyone wanting to improve and develop existing skills, as well as communication skills, helping them be more effective, safe and compassionate at work.

The course includes an overview of how to:

• recognise, prevent and defuse challenging behaviours
• avoid clinically related assaults through safer positioning and working practices
• safely guide and redirect confused patients
• enhance skills if physical intervention is required          

Afterwards you’ll:

• feel more confident 
• have a clear understanding of what it means to be involved and what it looks like
• go away with ideas and information about how to communicate, engage and react
• have awareness of legal guidance in situations that might affect you
