Our Trust is pressing ahead with the introduction of Nervecentre, the new technology used for patient observations and handover.

Currently Nervecentre has gone live on 7 wards (11pods) at CRH and the plan is to be fully live towards the end of July in CRH. The rollout will start at HRI at the end of July with a planned finish of mid-September.

Since the trial started in February over 26,000 sets of observations on the system and since roll-out started on 19th May there over 10,000 sets of observations have been completed.

Project lead nurse Jackie Hallam thanked all colleagues for embracing the technology. She said: “These are exciting times and, though challenging, will result in a safer care for our patients and improve the overall quality of care they receive."

The biggest challenge is making sure staff can access the system, which is via their Trust network log-in and password. It is essential staff have this before we implement Nervecentre on their areas.
